Petplan is delighted to launch Cat Stakes, a new cat class for junior cats aged 9 months to 2 years. Launching in July at Lincolnshire Cat Club, Cat Stakes will be attending six shows across the UK and is open to all cats including Champions (excluding Grand Champions, Imperials and Neuters).

Classes will include:

• Pedigree Persian
• Pedigree Semi Longhair
• Pedigree British
• Pedigree Foreign
• Pedigree Burmese
• Pedigree Oriental
• Pedigree Siamese/Balinese
• Household Pets (Cross breed)

Cat Stakes will score a points system for all eight classes giving 10 points (£10) for first place, 7 (£7) points for second and 5 points (£5) for third. All results will be published in Our Cats after each show as well as the winners being published on the shows’ websites.

The pedigree cat with the most points at the end of 2008 will be crowned Petplan Pedigree Junior Cat 2008 and the household pet class winner will be awarded title of Petplan Household Junior Cat 2008. Both winners will receive £500.
