Petplan Looks to Expand International Opportunities

Petplan, the largest animal health insurance provider in the world, is looking to expand its world-wide presence with the appointment of its first International Account Manager.

Phil McKinnon, who has been with Petplan for 10 years working in operations and building affinity business in the UK, starts in this newly created position immediately. He comments: “Petplan continues to be the dominant player in the increasingly commoditised UK pet insurance market and provides us with great possibilities for expansion outside of our existing territories.

“By engaging the support and worldwide presence of our parent company Allianz, we can look to develop international opportunities by utilising our specialist knowledge of the industry and its routes to market. Through the creation of this role we will also be able to enhance the support we currently provide to those countries where the Petplan brand is already licensed”.

Petplan, part of Allianz Cornhill, is already licensed in Canada, Australia, America, Japan, Ireland and the Netherlands.
