Manchester to host Petplan Finals

Petplan, the UK's favourite pet insurance provider, is giving dog lovers in Manchester the chance to see the next generation of top showing dogs with the final of the 2010 Petplan Junior Stakes in Manchester next week.

The Manchester Dog Show Society will host the final at the New Bingley Hall venue in Stafford on Wednesday, January 19th from 9am.

The Petplan Junior Stakes is a dog showing competition for dogs aged between 6 and 18 months old, and the final will see a total of 28 dogs vying for the title. The dogs in the final have qualified from heats held around the country throughout last year.

Manchester's Secretary, Paul Harding, is overjoyed that Manchester will be hosting the final, "We are delighted that Manchester has been chosen to host the final of the Petplan Junior Stakes. Not only that, the event also takes place day before our Championship show, when we will be celebrating our 150th Anniversary, a huge landmark in the society's history. We look forward to welcoming both exhibitors and judges to this prestigious event at a venue which can be so easily reached by all."

Petplan Marketing Manager Alison Andrew commented, "We're looking forward to the final and I have no doubt that this year will be as competitive as ever with such a high quality field."

Petplan will also have available their exclusive booklet, 'The Petplan Showing Guide', explaining the basics of dog showing, written by world renowned judge Andrew Brace. Covering everything from information on how to get started to a brief history of dog shows, it also includes the types of shows available to enter, what judges are looking for, and much more.
