Petplan Dog show lights up Blackpool
Petplan, the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider, has announced their sponsorship of the Blackpool dog show, which will run from the 25th – 27th June.
Blackpool has been chosen as one of the four Championship Dog Shows to host the new and improved Petplan Junior Stakes Qualifier in June 2010. Petplan hope the new format will get more people from the North West region attending the show.
Petplan’s Marketing Manager Alison Andrew commented, “We are delighted to be working with the Blackpool Championship Show and want to open the event up to dog lovers from across the region by making the show easier for the general public to understand.”
Petplan will be handing out booklets which will help explain the basics of dog showing, additionally, expert “guides” will be available at the venue to help newcomers and members of the public around the show, by explaining the judging system and answering questions. Petplan will also have a hospitality area at the show available to their customers.
As the only UK championship show to be featured in the New York Times, and with over 50 trade stands on display, Blackpool has become known as one of the most popular Championship shows on the UK circuit. Held in the summer in a popular holiday area, it always has a large public attendance and is well known as a local attraction, enjoying great support from the local council. It will also give visitors a chance to experience great cuisine at numerous food stalls and enjoy drinks at the licensed bar as well as plenty of car parking facilities.
Secretary Steve Hall said, “The Officers and Committee of Blackpool Championship Show are delighted to be one of the four selected General Championship Shows to host the fully revamped Petplan Junior Stakes. Particularly we like the forward thinking of this Petplan team, with a more even spread of competitors competing in the final as never before. The Petplan presence and promotion hopefully will be second to none for a UK general championship show.”
The Petplan Junior stakes qualifiers will be at Southern Counties, Scottish Kennel Club and the City of Birmingham with the final being held in Manchester in 2011.
