Animal inheritance on rise as people leave pounds to pets
Following on from the news that Alexander McQueen left £50,000 of his £16million fortune to his dogs, Petplan has found that McQueen is not the only one who is leaving pennies to his puppies.
Petplan's census which was completed in April 2011 by over 10,000 respondents shows that:
- 54% of people would leave money to a furry friend
- 15% of people have already included a pet in their will
- 57% of females (aged 18-24) would leave money to a cherished critter compared to 42% of men in the same age range
