Veterinary Awards 2018

The annual Petplan Veterinary Awards are back, looking to celebrate the outstanding achievements and work carried out by vets and veterinary staff across the country. Now in its 19th year, we need your help to nominate individuals and teams from veterinary practices who have shown dedication to pets, always putting animal welfare first.

Although your pet can’t speak for themselves, nominating on their behalf is a way of saying thank you to all those who have helped you over the years.

As almost half of the households in Britain own at least one pet, our aim is to find exemplar members of the veterinary profession who have gone above and beyond for you and your pets. Whether it’s their regular work to ensure your pet is healthy, giving you as a pet owner peace of mind, or doing something extraordinary for those animals who are vulnerable, nominate today and help us celebrate this fantastic work.

James Barnes, Head of Sales & Partnerships at Petplan comments:

“Petplan values its strong relationship with veterinary practices across the UK and places much importance on the essential role played by industry professionals in looking after the nation’s pets. We receive daily feedback from our customers praising the exceptional care veterinary staff have provided for their beloved pets and the Veterinary Awards are an opportunity for both owners and Petplan to formally recognise these outstanding individuals.”

Who: who can be nominated?

The veterinary awards are split into five categories:

  • Practice of the Year
  • Practice Manager of the Year
  • Practice Support Staff of the Year
  • Vet Nurse of the Year
  • Vet of the Year

Last year’s winners include 387 Veterinary Centre Ltd, Johanna Headley, Nicky Smith, Anne Corson, and Joanne Civil, all of whom showed true devotion to their work helping pets and pet owners alike.

Here at Petplan, we work closely with veterinary practices, and see daily the passion that is needed to succeed in this profession. Vets, vet nurses and practice staff are the everyday heroes of our pet’s world – recognise their excellence and nominate!

How: how are winners selected?

Once all nominations are in, they will be judged by an impartial and independent panel of professionals in the veterinary field. From previous winners to presidents of veterinary associations, our judges know exactly how challenging life in the practice can be.

But with their combined expertise and first-hand experience, we believe they will choose the deserving winners who are dedicated to helping animals.

Petplan are not part of the judging panel.

When:

Nominations are open now until 12th January 2018 – so, there’s no need to wait! All nominations are anonymous and you aren’t limited to one category.

After three finalists are chosen from each category in March 2018, they will be invited to attend the awards ceremony taking place on Wednesday 5th April, where the winners will be announced!
