Allianz Animal Health expands business through partnership with Leeds Building Society

Allianz Animal Health (AAH), the largest animal health insurance provider in the world, has expanded its partnership business by providing pet insurance through Leeds Building Society.

Leeds Building Society now offers two pet insurance products which are available through its national branch network and on-line. Underwritten by Allianz, the products include cover for vet fees (up to £2,000 per condition for up to 12 months or £5,000 per year, covered for life), complementary treatment and a legal helpline. In addition, three optional packages are available for policyholders to add to their cover:

  • Third party liability for dogs
  • Pet travel package offering a variety of cover if pets are ever taken abroad
  • Additional benefits including cover for missing pets and death from illness or injury

Allianz Animal Health is the UK’s leading pet insurance provider insuring more than 800,000 animals in the UK. In 2006, AAH handled 375,000 claims and paid out over £2million in claims every week.

Policy information

AAH is offering two different types of insurance policy through Leeds Building Society.

The 12 Month Policy product (£2,000 cover) enables Policyholders to claim up to a maximum of 12 months from the date of onset or first date of treatment for each disease, illness or injury. After 12 months no further treatment for that condition will be paid for under the policy and an exclusion will be placed.

The Cover for Life product (£5,000 cover) renews the amount of vet fees cover at the start of each year. This enables the policy holder to claim the full vet fee benefit, year after year, as long as the policy is renewed annually. This type of policy pays for ongoing conditions for example diabetes, arthritis and eczema.

Leeds Building Society
