Blackpool selected for Petplan Junior Stakes 2011 show
Petplan, the UK's favourite pet insurance provider, has announced that the Blackpool Canine Society will host a General Championship Show will host a Petplan's Junior Stakes qualifier next year.
Blackpool Canine Society will receive support from Petplan, which includes a £5,000 financial investment, to help with running costs and advertising, and as well as receiving marketing support, which will include being promoted to Petplan's extensive customer base. The show will feature in Petplan's bi-annual customer magazine, monthly e-newsletters and dedicated websites for customers and breeders. The additional exposure will help increase public awareness and create excitement within the breeder and dog showing community.
Blackpool has become known as one of the most progressive shows in the country and the dog show will again be held in summer at the popular holiday area. With its large public attendance, it is well known as a local attraction, enjoying great support from the local council and for the second year running the Petplan Junior Stakes will be held at this venue.
Secretary Steve Hall said, "The Blackpool Championship Show is delighted to be selected, once again, to host the Petplan Junior Stakes. We see this as a great opportunity to work alongside a household name."
Petplan's Marketing Manager Alison Andrew commented, "We were delighted with the response from the General Championship Shows who wanted to be part of this competition, and I'd like to thank all the shows that took the time to make a submission. It was a very tough decision, but we'd like to congratulate all the selected shows. We're looking forward to working with the Blackpool Canine Society and I have no doubt this year's Petplan Junior Stakes will be bigger and better than ever."
The Petplan Junior Stakes, now in its 17th year, has established itself as a popular and well supported event in the UK dog showing circuit, open to dogs and bitches between 6-8 months old, and the four chosen shows have all expressed their delight at the opportunity to be involved in such a well established competition.
The remaining shows chosen to host a Petplan Junior Stakes qualifier are: Bath Canine Society, Southern Counties Canine Association and Darlington Championship Dog Show.
