Petplan Junior Stakes offer more in 2012
The Petplan Junior Stakes Final takes place on Wednesday 18th January at the Stafford County showground prior to the Manchester Championship show. This prestigious event will see 28 dogs and bitches compete under a panel of three judges to determine the overall winner.
As has become tradition, many of the dogs who have qualified are already established winners, some of them Champions despite their youth, so competition will be of the high standard that has, over the years, become associated with the Petplan Junior Stakes Final.
The Manchester Championship show also sees the launch of the new format for the 2012 Petplan Junior Stakes. The Petplan Junior Stakes will take place at eight General Championship shows in 2012 with one Stakes class being held on each day of the selected shows, regardless of grouping, with an increased prize fund of £275 per day available for the lucky winners.
The General Championship Shows hosting the Petplan Junior Stakes Qualifiers are:
|Manchester Dog Show Society||19th – 22nd January|
|Bath Canine Society||25th – 28th May|
|Southern Counties Canine Association||1st – 3rd June|
|Blackpool & District Canine Society||22nd – 24th June|
|East of England Agricultural Society||6th – 8th July|
|Leeds City & District Canine Association||27th – 29th July|
|Darlington Dog Show Society||14th – 16th September|
|Midland Counties Canine Society||25th – 28th October|
Continuing its relationship with some of the country's most prominent shows, in addition to providing further prizes for all the daily winners, Petplan will be giving away 500 branded Poopa Scoopas which will be available from the company's gazebo at each of the shows and they will also be running a significant prize-draw.
Petplan's Head of Marketing Isabella Von Mesterhazy commented, "This is a great opportunity for us to work with these shows and continue to develop our relationship with breeders and exhibitors around the country. I have no doubt with this year's increased prize fund we will encourage more entries and maintain the high standard of this well established competition."
The Petplan Junior Stakes, now in its 18th year, has established itself as a popular and well supported series in the UK dog showing circuit and is open to dogs and bitches between 6-18 months old on the day of the show.
Petplan has long prided itself on its happy relationship with dog breeders and exhibitors and is sure that the new-style Junior Stakes will be supported as enthusiastically as ever.
