Keep your dog off the sofa - for good

Q: My little terrier has started to get grumpy when I get her off the sofa at night for bedtime. What should I do?

A: Don't shout at her or tell her off, as this can be interpreted as confrontational and may make her grumpier. She's obviously very comfy on the sofa so you need to offer her something exciting to coax her into getting off. Calling her enthusiastically and then giving her a food treat, or her favourite toy when she gets down, normally works well.
