Buckinghamshire man is voted top dog

Mike Hewitt is Voted Vet of the Year at the Vet Oscars

Local vet, Mike Hewitt, of the Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre in Buckinghamshire, has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Vet of the Year 2010’ at the Petplan Veterinary Awards - the Oscars of the veterinary profession.

Mike is held in the highest regard by clients and colleagues having worked in the profession for over 20 years and the independent panel of judges were bowled over by the praise in his nominations. Crucially, Mike is loved by clients and their pets, receiving a large number of heartfelt testimonies from happy clients which allowed his professionalism and approachable manner shine through.

Alison Andrew, Petplan’s Marketing Manager, explains: “The Petplan Veterinary Awards are about thanking the Veterinary profession for the outstanding level of care they provide to our animals. Mike Hewitt, like many vets, provides an exceptional service to clients and their pets, clearly shown by how much he is loved by pets and owners alike. We are delighted to name him ‘Vet of the Year 2010’.”

The Petplan Veterinary Awards, now in their 11th year, recognise and applaud staff and practices throughout the country that have delivered an exceptional level of care to the nation’s pets. More than 1,800 pet owners across the UK voted for the awards, demonstrating the importance Britain places not only on their animals, but also the dedicated veterinary professionals that care for them.
