Petplan Dog show comes to Birmingham
Petplan, the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider, has announced their sponsorship of the Birmingham dog show, which will run from the 3rd – 5th September.
The City of Birmingham has been chosen as one of the four Championship Dog Shows to host the new and improved Petplan Junior Stakes Qualifier in September 2010. Petplan hope the new format will get more people in the West Midlands attending the show.
Petplan’s Marketing Manager Alison Andrew commented, “We are delighted to be working with the City of Birmingham. We want to open the event up to dog lovers all over the region by making the show easier for the general public to understand.”
Petplan will be handing out booklets which will help explain the basics of dog showing, additionally, expert “guides” will be available at the venue to help newcomers and members of the public around the show, by explaining the judging system and answering questions. Petplan will also have a hospitality area at the show available to customers. There will also be opportunities for visitors to experience great cuisine at numerous food stalls and enjoy drinks at the licensed bar as well as plenty of car parking facilities.
The City of Birmingham show is held in the centre of the country at the National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh, home to the Kennel Club’s new building which has already hosted countless shows and seminars.
Chairman Bill King said, “The City is delighted to have been selected to hold a heat of the Petplan Junior Stakes in 2010. We look forward to continuing our very long association with Petplan and to being part of their new exciting new Junior Stakes format".
The Petplan Junior stakes qualifiers will be at Southern Counties, Blackpool and the Scottish Kennel Club with the final being held in Manchester in 2011.
