Petplan launches Veterinary Awards Nominations
Petplan, the UK's largest pet insurance provider, has opened nominations for the Petplan Veterinary Awards 2012.
Now into its 13th year, the Petplan Veterinary Awards are often referred to as the 'Veterinary Oscars', which helps to recognise the crucial role veterinary staff play in practice and their communities. It is also an opportunity for colleagues and pet owners to thank their local veterinary stars who go above and beyond the call of duty.
By nominating a practice or member of staff you could win the exclusive opportunity for you and a friend to attend the glittering awards ceremony in April 2012, in Birmingham, and a night's stay at a top hotel.
The categories are:
Vet of the Year
Vets nominated for this award should be someone who combines clinical excellence with a consistently high level of customer care. The judges are looking for someone who is professional as well as approachable, and who demonstrates dedication and compassion in all aspects of their work.
Vet Nurse of the Year
Enthusiastic, organised and conscientious, the qualified vet nurses nominated for this award should be dedicated to ensuring that time spent in practice is a positive experience for both owners and their pets. Efficient yet friendly, they should be respected in and out of practice.
Vet Support Staff of the Year
The judges are looking for a vet support staff member who is calm, compassionate, dedicated to their role and provides colleagues with the highest level of support. The vet support staff member nominated for this award could be an animal nursing assistant, receptionist or student vet nurse.
Practice of the Year
If your practice has a motivated and committed team, open to new ideas whilst providing a consistently high level of service, offers a variety of services and are informative and professional, then make sure your practice is nominated.
VBJ Practice Manager of the Year
The Practice Manager who is nominated for this award will play a crucial role in enhancing the success of a veterinary practice. The judges are looking for someone who is able to successfully balance the demands of practice owners, employees, clients and regulatory bodies.
Petplan's Head of Marketing, Isabella Von Mesterhazy comments, "At Petplan, we have worked closely with the veterinary community for over 35 years and through our customers we hear about the wonderful work they do each day. Vets have become unsung heroes to many families and local communities, so we believe that these awards are a great way to show the nation's appreciation for all their hard work and dedication."
The closing date for entries is 10th February 2011 and all finalists will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony in Birmingham on 12th April 2011, where the winners will be announced.
Finalists will be selected based on the information supplied in their nomination, so it's important to give the independent judges, made up of industry experts, a detailed explanation on why they would be a deserving winner. To nominate today visit www.petplan.co.uk/vetawards
