Petplan Dog and Puppy Insurance
For pet people there are few commitments more rewarding and exciting than giving a puppy or dog a new home.
Dogs, and puppies in particular are renowned for their mischievous and inquisitive nature which can result in accidents - so it is important to have your policy in place from the outset of ownership.
Is insurance really necessary?
Our experience shows that 1 in 3 pets require unexpected veterinary treatment each year and younger dogs are particularly vulnerable as they need time to adjust to their new surroundings. Unfortunately this increased risk sometimes ends with an impromptu trip to the vet so it is never too early to buy your puppy insurance policy.
With extensive developments in veterinary science vets now have a variety of different diagnostic techniques at their disposal. However, advanced methods can come at a cost and just diagnosing a condition can quickly run into many hundreds of pounds.
If you have just purchased or re-homed a puppy then Petplan offers cover from the age of just 8 weeks (or 6 weeks or if re-homed from an approved Petplan breeder). Whether you’ve just introduced your puppy into the family home, or they're a few months into finding their feet, our dog insurance policy can help cover the cost of veterinary treatment when things go wrong.
