Meet the pets of the show

Frank

Frank, the cherished cat of vets Amy and Andy, undergoes successful dental work with their trusted colleague, Dr. James Greenwood. But days later, concern grows as Frank shows signs of illness. Could a rare reaction to the anaesthetic be affecting his kidneys?

Fern Britton

TV presenter, Sunday Times bestselling author of eleven bestselling novels, and a much-loved presenter obtaining her national treasure status presenting ITV’s “This Morning” for over a decade.

‘Cat mum’ and all-round animal lover Fern 'scrubs' up and goes behind the scenes at The Grove Vets in Bristol, a small family run practice, with a big heart, providing care to hundreds of pets every week.

Dr James Greenwood

Animal advocate, author and TV personality starring in BAFTA-nominated CBBC show “The Pet’s Factor”, resident vet on BBC One’s “Morning Live” and fronting Channel 4’s “Fur Babies”.

The practicing small animal veterinarian takes Fern through the range of treatments The Grove Vets provide; from routine vaccinations to emergency and critical care, and as Fern finds out, everything in between.

Andy Valenzia

BVSc GPCertSAS MRCVS, Veterinary Surgeon

Qualified from the University of Bristol Vet School in 2008 and completed a post graduate surgical certification in 2022

Loves surgery and has been performing keyhole and other advanced procedures for many a year now

Amy Valenzia

BVSc CertAVP MRCVS, Veterinary Surgeon

Qualified from the Bristol Vet School in 2008 and has achieved her Cert AVP on internal medicine

Loves medicine and ultrasonography and is undertaking a 2-year diagnostic imaging post graduate course

Ella Grove

RVN, Head Nurse

University of Bristol graduate with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing and Biomedical sciences

Excels in training student nurses, conducting nursing consults, and performing anaesthesia

Georgia Hargrave

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Graduated from The University of Chester in June 2025 with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing

Strong interest in inpatient and critical care and hopes to complete a certificate in canine medicine in the future

Leah Morris

Final year veterinary nurse student, qualifying this summer
