What is kitten insurance?

Kitten insurance is a type of pet insurance designed to help you manage the cost of unexpected vet bills if your kitten becomes ill or injured. 

Kittens are naturally curious and still developing, which means they can be more prone to accidents or need treatment in their early months. Having cover in place early means you can focus on your kitten's health rather than worrying about cost. 

You can insure your kitten with Petplan from as young as 6 weeks old (or 8 weeks if purchased from a licensed breeder). We recommend insuring your kitten as soon as they are home with you. That way, they are protected from the start.

Once your kitten is insured on a Covered For Life® plan, their cover continues as they grow into an adult cat with no break in protection. New Covered For Life® policies are available for cats up to 10 years old — another reason to get cover in place early.

Do I need kitten insurance?
