Making a claim with Petplan is easy. You do not need to call us to notify us of your claim, instead you can simply submit a claim to us via your vet, by post or on our website. Our speedy digital service will keep you up-to-date with your claim, without you needing to contact us so you can focus on caring for your pet.

We pay 97% of all the claims we receive and, unlike some other pet insurers, we’ll never charge you more for claiming. Your price will increase every year as your pet gets older, but with Petplan you won’t pay more for claiming. In fact, if your pet needs treatment we want you to claim. Our pricing approach is different to most other pet insurance providers, and one of the reasons why over 90% of Petplan customers renew each year.

Terms, conditions and excess apply and may be varied on renewal. Cover may be provided for some pre-existing conditions. Claims data correct since 2023. Petplan is a trading name of Pet Plan Limited and Allianz Insurance plc.

If you’re ready to claim for Vet Bills now, you can submit our online claims form. You can use this form for both new and continuous claims.

If your pet has been seen by different vet practices, please use a separate form for each practice.

We will send you an SMS once we’ve received your claim and will get in touch if we need any further information from you or your vet.

To submit a vet bills claim via post or email, or to claim for anything else, please download the relevant claims form below. Then input your details and ask your vet or the relevant professional to complete their section and send it back to us via post or email using the details below:

Don’t forget, as a Petplan customer, you have exclusive access to Pet Expert Chat. You can contact a veterinary professional 24/7 via phone or video chat to discuss any concerns you have about your pet’s health or get quick advice as your pet recovers. Simply login to My Petplan and head to My Support to get started.
If your vet hasn't completed their part of your online claim form it is best to speak to them directly to make sure they know it is with them or if they haven't processed it for another reason.
To get an idea of whether you will be covered for a particular treatment it is best to speak to our claims service team on 0330 102 6735. We cannot tell you for certain what will be covered, but we can look at your policy type, past claims, vet history if we have it, exclusions and your benefits level to tell you if something won't be covered.
When we’ve received your claim we will send you confirmation, if you haven't received this yet the form might still be with your vet so it is best to check with them. If we have confirmed that we’ve received your completed claim form then please be assured that our pet experts are reviewing it and will send an update with the outcome as soon as possible. If we need any additional information from you or your vet, we’ll also be in touch.

At Petplan there is no penalty for making a claim. We want you to take your pet to the vet without worrying about the cost of your insurance, so we won’t increase your premium just because you have made a claim. Premiums do increase inline with veterinary inflation and as you pet gets older but your renewal premium is not affected by whether you have claimed or not.

Different insurers have different approaches to premium increases and some provide lower initial premiums and then apply increases to help manage the cost of claims. Be aware that sometimes cheap insurance can cost you significantly more in the long run.
