Understanding your puppy

Just like us, our dogs have wonderfully unique personalities. Get to know your pet better by learning how to understand your dog's behaviour and body language.

Dog Trainer

Charlotte Vallancey

Dog School Coach

I have been a coach at Dogs Trust for over a year, after working with many rescue cats and dogs, and other animal welfare charities, alongside completing a degree in musical theatre. I am proud to work for Dog School, I truly believe that the work is having a significant positive impact on the lives of puppies and young dogs, and reducing the amount of behavioural issues resulting in relinquishment. I have a 3 year old German Shepherd cross at home called Magnus, as well as two rescue cats.

Jo Page

Dog School Coach

I have worked in both exotic and domestic animal rescue; joining Dogs Trust Dog School in 2017. As a passionate advocate of reward-based training, my favourite part of the job is seeing the smile on an owner’s face when they hit their goals. I am an accredited trainer with the APDT and also hold a BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare.

About Dogstrust

Since 1891, Dogs Trust has been working for a better future for dogs and the people who love them.

When a dog is in distress, Dogs Trust care for them. When a dog needs a home, Dogs Trust finds them a loving family. When an owner needs a helping hand (or paw) – or they just can’t cope, Dogs Trust are ready to step in.

For every dog, for every owner, Dogs Trust is by their side through thick and thin, throughout their lives. Dogs Trust believe that the special bond between dogs and their owners changes lives, making each day happier and more complete. It’s why Dogs Trust believe a dog is for life.
