Our work with charities

In 2024 Petplan paid over £5.4 million to animal charities who work in partnership with us

Being pet lovers ourselves we understand the challenges animal welfare organisations face. We work closely with over 1,200 animal charities to help send rescue pets home with 4 weeks free insurance, and thanks to our partnerships, have helped raise vital funds to support pets in their care.

In 2024, we raised over £5.4 million for charities by giving 10% of rescue pet premiums back to animal charities.

2025 Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards

This year, we celebrated the 13th year of the Petplan and Association of Dogs and Cats Home (ADCH) Animal Charity Awards! These awards give the opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of charities by saying ‘thank you’ and nominating your favourite animal charity teams, volunteers and employees.

£1000 monthly charity giveaway

Each month Petplan randomly selects one of its animal charity partners in a prize draw to receive a £1000 donation to put towards helping the animals in their care. These additional funds help charities help more pets. Kellie Brookes, centre manager for Blue Cross in Hertfordshire says: “Petplan’s donation will help us achieve our plans to redevelop the centre and provide the care and services that pets, and their owners, so desperately need.”

Rehome a pet

Working with hundreds of UK animal charities, at Petplan we really understand how important it is to help all pets find their forever home. Rehoming a pet can be a really rewarding experience and helps a pet in need to get the love and care they deserve. Our rehome a pet section has lots of useful resources to help you understand if rehoming a pet is right for you and to search for a rehoming centre near you!

Foster a pet

Petplan team help out

We are committed to supporting charities in any way we can, that’s why the Petplan team are encouraged to volunteer their time and support to help charity centres across the UK to help make a real difference to the lives of pets.

In 2019, members of the Petplan Team spent 2 days at National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) rehoming centre in Watford helping them prepare for their open day weekend. Members of the Petplan team have volunteered to run the London Marathon, a 26.2-mile course to raise funding for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Our staff are passionate about helping in any way they can and run events throughout the year from Paws for Tea to donating unwanted clothing to help fundraise for Blue Cross.
