You don’t have to spend a fortune in the pet shop on treats your kitten will adore. Try out these simple recipes at home and you’ll soon have your pet mewling for more.
There’s no better way to bond with your kitten than giving them the things they love and homemade kitten treats are a cost-effective way to spoil your furry friend.
It’s important to make sure the treats you make contain things your pet loves, but are also nutritious. Most cats are lactose intolerant so avoid milk. Other foods, such as chocolate and onions, are also off-limits. And if you’re giving your kitten treats, remember to reduce main meals to ensure they stay at a healthy weight.
Cats prefer to eat little and often so getting your kitten used to eating no more than they need using healthy homemade treats is a good way to regulate their eating habits. It’s also a great way to reinforce your bond and train good behaviour. Make sure your kitten has fresh water at all times.
Cats love fish and chicken and these foods are good for them so these fishy treats are perfect. We’ve even included a catnip recipe for extra excitement.
